Thank you for visiting Philocoffea.
This coffee comes from Worka Sakaro, part of the Gedeb district in Yirgacheffe.
The name Worka means “gold” in the local Gedeo language —
a nod to the area’s richness and hospitality.
The BNT company, known for high-quality Ethiopian exports,
owns the Worka Sakaro Washing Station,
where they emphasize fair pay and meticulous processing.
This washed version (last year’s was natural) bursts with fruity brightness —
citrus, grape, and stone fruit.
We roasted it lightly to showcase these flavors,
keeping the roast development short for a vibrant, floral impression.
Expect lemonade-like acidity, sweet white grape, and tea-like finish —
energetic yet elegant.
It also shines when brewed with an AeroPress,
enhancing its sparkling acidity.
